"Keep your sense of proportion by regularly, preferably daily, visit the natural world."
~ Catlin Matthews

Like a bird who migrates east I have flown across the world to arrive in a beautiful tropical land, where exotic fauna live and grow. After nineteen hours of travel I have arrived safely in Singapore. Singapore Airlines was great and did not miss a chance to feed us,
this is one of many meals I had on board. Singapore is a beautiful place. Being so close to the equator, the weather is always warm and humid. I think the worst of jet lag is over and I am finally able to sleep on a normal schedule. The house I am living in is absolutely gorgeous, centrally located, close to the public transit and fully equipped with a gym and pool, which I will fortunately be taking full advantage of.

My first adventure took place at the Bukit Timah Nature reserve where I went hiking with my new friend Kara. When we first arrived we were welcomed by an aggresive spectacle of monkeys playing in the trees and trying to get food from the locals. A momma monkey with her baby strongly gripped to her belly was able to intimidate one local into giving up her tupperware of fruit by charging her, to which the local replied by throwing it off
to the side. I witnessed this smart monkey, pry open the tupperware top steal the fruit and sit and eat it as she stared at the helpless local. We are not supposed to feed the monkeys,
however when they charge you I can not see risking a monkey fight for some fruit.

Throughout the reserve there are over one hundred and fifty different species of trees and several types of ferns, botanicals and orchids. Today my mission is to go out with Napree, the faithful and wonderful maid, to learn the bus system so I can adventure out of the house on my own. Sentosa, the white maltise has been a great new friend and comes in my room in the morning to hang out, groom herself, and most of all sleep. I must say it has only been three days and I already love it here. The people are very friendly and I feel extremely welcome. Til
l next time, Goodbye!
